Yeah this is awesome. You have no idea how much I hate developing sited for old IE(actually maybe you do) and this makes it a bit easier.

I wish we could somehow ban IE 6 7 from the face of the earth, lol.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! This is saving my butt right now. Testing IE7 issues and just putting the “YOU NEED TO UPGRADE YOUR BROWSER” javascript for the silly IE6 browsers.

I agree with Erick S.–IETester is great for testing all versions of IE. I’ve developed many websites and unfortunately I still have to test on IE (Can anyone explain why people are still using it? How did they get so horribly stuck in the stone age?). IETester does crash on occasion, but hey… that just gives it even more of a MicroSoft feel! I do think it gives a very good impression of how your site will look in IE versions.

IETester does not work correctly it seams. It might be an option for ordinary sites but for building larger applications its really not an alternative.

IETester rulez!

So far I think IETester is the best tool to use for testing a website in multiple IE browser versions.

I always used Browsershots until I discovered IETester on this page, thanks for mentioning it!

IETester seems to be getting more bug filled these days, it barely works on my XP set up now so if you can load Multiple-IE it is by far the best and most complete way of testing designs.

In case anybody is wondering, it is also possible to run old versions on IE on Mac OS X, and you can do it natively, without installing any virus like XP or Vista, check: http://www.kronenberg.org/ies4osx/

Frederic: Virtual PC images is another solution that will work for the more technically minded, although for beginners it can be a little tricky or complicated to set up. Whereas IE Tester is a very easy and simple solution, that just involves installing a single desktop application. However, welcome to the blog.
